Happy Sunday, friends!! I am SO excited it is finally getting chillier outside and along with the cold weather comes the beloved fall looks! Fall is my favorite season to style outfits because of the endless possibilities! Layers and different deeper colors to pair together. How To Be A Girlboss 101: How to Crush Your Goals

Happy Sunday, besties!! It’s been another week so that means another blog post! Today I am writing to my fellow girlbosses on how to be a boss babe and crush your goals. This is such a fun topic for me to write about and always leaves me feeling so much more inspired than when I started. Check out these tips & go out and crush your Sunday!

Step 1: Write your goals down!

We all have goals, but they’re not going to amount to anything if they’re just sitting in the back of your head all day.

Make your goal(s) visible and tangible so you can see them every day and get pumped about working towards them. This is going to make them so much more real, and present than just occasionally thinking about them.

Some good ways to manifest your goals is to: 1. grab a pen and a paper and write everything down 2. Make yourself a vision board, these are powerful visual reminders to stay focused on what you want most (and get creative! they can be a lot of fun to make).

After you write a list or make some visual out of your goal write an action plan. Create a simple or an in depth step by step action plan of how you want to achieve your goal.

But go over your action plan frequently, adjust it accordingly so that you can succeed.

Step 2: Start taking baby steps.

What is something you can do each day to get you closer to your dream becoming a reality? Get in a routine which will push you forward towards your goal. If it helps, you can be accountable to someone or have someone you can report to and talk your goals over with. I personally keep a journal that I have my goals in. I outline what I need to do for the day or week, and write notes to myself on things I need to focus on the next day. Since I’ve started doing this my productivity has gone through the roof, and I’m a lot more organized.

Step 3: Get uncomfortable.

I am the LAST person who wants to do anything to make myself uncomfortable, but am the biggest advocate since moving to college. No one wants to be pushed. However, great things aren’t found in your comfort zone. You have to be willing to push your limits and really start doing the things that you’ve been too afraid to do. And yes it’s going to be scary at first and you are going to feel like a fish out of water. But that is how you are going to grow and see results.

What in your comfort zone is holding you back?  My challenge to you is to find your weak points, what makes you uneasy when you think about your goal? How can you change that weakness and harness it so that it becomes a strength?

Step 4: Don’t ever give up.

Do not get discouraged. Life is tough but my dear so are you, it’s time to kick your life in gear and take charge. Everyone is going to have setbacks, but what matters is that you get back up, and you throw another punch. Believe that you are a Boss Babe and you will be. You’ll be able to turn your weaknesses into strengths by trying, and not giving up.

Step 5: Get rid of your time wasters, and distractions.

What are the things in your daily life that are wasting your time? These could be anything that keep you from being productive such as apps on your phone, social media, TV shows, etc,. We are bombarded everyday with new ways to distract ourselves. The trick is being self aware and being able to realize that these things are sucking up hours of your day just trying to get to the next level (And it’s doing nothing for you!). I am the WORST at following this rule and really need to get better on this one.

Do yourself a favor, get rid of game apps on your phone, and other distractions. You will feel so much more free, and like you have a lot more time to achieve your goals.

It’s time to invest in yourself. Decide what is worth your time and what isn’t.

My Weekday Night Routine

Happy Sunday and happy fall!!!! I know I am not the only weirdo who loves seeing what other people do as a part of their daily routines, so today I am bringing you one of my own! MY WEEKDAY NIGHT ROUTINE WOOHOOO! During these cozy fall months, after a long day of classes I try to keep my nights free so I can wind down, spend some time with my friends, or just chill by myself. I have pretty early morning classes (which I actually love) and am typically done by at least 1PM so I don’t usually have a ton of homework to do in the evenings unless I am studying for a quiz or exam. I am an early to bed, early to rise type a gal and my nights are comfy, boring and relaxing, just how I like them.

First, I usually start out by making my dinner. Having a kitchen this year has been a TOTAL game changer. I love that I can make my own food when I want it and don’t have to worry about when or even worse, what, I am going to eat at the dining halls. Some of my favorite meals to make are pasta, crock pot meals (I know, am I 80? Yes. But they are so easy!!), and sweet potatoes in the oven! During this time I might watch some TV or eat with my roomie and chat about our days.

After dinner, I will get in some comfier clothes (if I’m not already) and light a bunch of candles. My friends and I might watch a TV show or I will watch something on my own. One of our current faves is Riverdale duh!! Highly recommend if you haven’t seen it! TOO much drama WOAH.

SO once all of the unwinding happens I actually start getting ready for bed. I start by taking off my makeup, washing my face, and doing my nighttime skincare. I use the Simple Cleansing Wipes for my face and to take off my eye makeup I use the Garnier SKINACTIVE Micellar Cleansing Water with a cotton round so I’m not tugging on my eyes with the wipes.

I have gone back to my roots lately for my skincare lately. I have tried A LOT of skincare products but what has proven itself time and time again is:

  1. CeraVe Oil Control Foaming Facial Cleanser
  2. OLEHENRIKSON Truth Serum
  3. CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion

These combined with my prescription acne cremes is the perfect combination for my skin.

I then get in bed and make a rough to do list for the next day. This includes homework or anything I have planned the next day in order to be productive. After this, I schedule out my Facebook posts for my job working for Mama Said Tees (literally the BEST job I am so lucky). Check out our amazing and KIND tees and apparel!

I usually go to bed around 10:30 or 11 since I have to get up between 6 and 7 for classes every day. Night time is a time for me to relax while also preparing for the next day. Hope you enjoyed my Fall Night Routine!! (morning routine coming soon???)

6 Ways To Boost Productivity in College

I am all about being productive, especially in college when it can be so hard to manage your time and find a routine that works for you. Here are some ways you can boost productivity in college!! YOU GOT THIS!

1. Don’t let stress take over

Everyone wants to succeed as a college student and do well. Some people are just lucky but most people have to work hard to earn good grades. With good grades also come the pressures of getting great internships, working a job, and keeping scholarships. This is such an important point for me to make because even though the stress of college and learning to balance life is a daunting task, it is only temporary. So push through!

2. Find a good place to study/get stuff done

A change of environment is crucial in getting stuff done, at least for me. My favorite places are local coffee shops. I have a few in my area that I go to pretty consistently and I always leave feeling satisfied and inspired. Maybe also a little bit drained mentally but content.

3. Use a planner/calendar

I consider myself to be a fairly organized person but I definitely couldn’t do it all without a planner and calendar. Right now I use a planner for my school assignments and then my phone calendar for any social, sorority, or work related events. This keeps them separate which I like, while also having a place for everything.

4. Get enough sleep

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE my sleep. I, even as a college student, still make sure I get a full 8 hours of sleep each night. Because if I don’t I really can’t function the next day. Getting enough sleep in essential in my productivity and energy levels in making sure I get done what I need to get done.

5. Work on time management 

Time management is not an easy task and I am continuously working on these skills. You have to learn to prioritize and figure out what is most important at the time. This can be extremely difficult especially in college when balancing social, personal, and school life and obligations. You just have to remember to do what’s best for you even if that means sacrificing something you love every once in a while.

6. Learn when to say “no” and when to say “yes”

I am a big yes person because I am a total people pleaser. But sometimes you have to say no. You have to put yourself and your needs first. Every college student has different things they have to say no to sometimes to succeed; whether it’s staying in on some weekend nights or not sleeping in on some mornings. It’s important to learn what you have to say no to accomplish your goals long term. Likewise, it’s crucial to know when to say YES. You shouldn’t miss out on every fun opportunity during college because of the stress and pressure of getting excellent grades. It’s all about judgment, understanding, and balance!
