Thank You, Daddy

This Sunday, Father’s Day 2017, I wanted to write a little thank you note/letter to my Dad because he’s a pretty stand-up guy and deserves to be recognized.

Happy Father’s Day to my twin, my bestie, my biggest cheerleader, and all around favorite guy. Thank you for the countless advice you have given, hugs I have received, and the constant “I love you’s.” You have never failed to show me how much I am loved and how capable I am. You have pushed me from the very beginning to be the best me I can be. You have encouraged me to do things I didn’t always want to do but have helped me grow in the long run. I will never not smile when people say we look alike or that we have the same green eyes. You are always showing me what it means to be a good father and husband so I know what to look for in the future. I hope I can find a spouse that is half the man you are. I am so beyond blessed to have you as my Daddy and I pray that you know how much you are loved and appreciated for all you do.

Love you to the moon and back x10000000000

Love, Anna

Going After What You Want

FullSizeRender

Happy Sunday! I have talked about this topic a few times already on my blog and probably will continue to in future posts. This is something that is so important to me and has proved time after time again to be successful. I was raised in a “you won’t know unless you ask” sort of household, so if we wanted something to happen we had to do what we could to make sure it did. When I started this blog I went in with the intent of creating a name for myself while simultaneously doing what I love, writing. I wasn’t (and still am not) sure of what I wanted to do with my life but figured this was a good start. I put myself out there in hopes that people would receive it well and I could continue to produce content I am proud of. But I just took a chance and went for it because I wanted to do it. The most recent example in my life is with my amazing internship with Mama Said Tees this summer. As an incoming sophomore in college I have decided to be a business marketing major and I felt like this could be a good fit for me to get my foot in the door. I fell in love with this company from the get go and couldn’t stop thinking about how much I would LOVE to work with them. So as I started discussing jobs this summer with my parents, I brought up approaching the Colleens to see if I could work for them. I sent an email and everything fell into place. I have now been working for them for almost a week and it is probably one of the coolest things I have ever been a part of. Find your passions. This doesn’t just apply to a job, it can be anything in your life that you want to change. GO and ASK for what you want. MAKE IT HAPPEN. You never know what could come of it. You are worth it.

My Summer Essentials

Hey friends!! Happy Sunday! It’s finally June and summer has officially begun. This week I am going to share with you my must-have summer essentials. The summer months are a perfect time to try out new products and see what new stuff is out there. Whether at the pool, beach, or just hanging around at home you can’t go wrong with these absolute necessities of mine.

  1. leave-in conditioner
  2. skincare with vitamin c
  3. hydrating lip balm
  4. summer scent
  5. fashionable sunnies
  6. pretty reusable water bottle

Leave-in conditioner is a summer staple I have been reaching for for years. It is such a hassle free product and leaves you with tangle free, silky smooth hair instantly. My go-to leave in product at the moment is the Briogeo Rosarco (rose, argan, and coconut oils) Milk. With no sulfates, silicones, or parabens it is natural, nourishing and super beneficial to your hair.

I have recently gotten into a skincare regime with products that have vitamin c and collagen in them to brighten my skin and lighten up some of the dark spots and hyper pigmentation I have. These two OLEHENRIKSEN staples are quickly making their way into my holy grail items list. I have noticed a significant difference in my skin and would definitely recommend. Skincare is something I am always willing to invest in.

A hydrating lip balm is so crucial in preventing dry cracked lips in the scorching summer heat. One of my new favorite lip combos is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm and Lip Mask. These extremely moisturizing products keep my lips feeling soft and smooth all day long. I usually put on the lip mask before I go to bed so I can wake up with hydrated lips and put on the lip balm throughout the day as needed. One of the best lip duos I’ve tried.

A new and unique summer scent is so much fun to play with during these few warm months. My current favorite scent is Laila by Geir Ness. The fresh, clean scent is inspired by the mountains and fjords of Norway. Love this perfume and its beautiful bottle!

The sun sure is out and it is shining. Sunglasses are the perfect summer accessory to add just a little something to any outfit. My current favorite are the Emma Sunglasses from Urban Outfitters. I love the tortoise shell look and they are super flattering.

The last essential and maybe the most important health wise is a sleek reusable water bottle. Not only will this keep you hydrated this summer but keep you looking stylish while doing it. I take mine wherever I go so I constantly have water to sip on. I have the white lily wood S’well bottle and I love it. It keeps my water cold all day long.

XOXO Anna
