Spring Lookbook 2017

Happy Sunday and happy spring! As I move into my final week as a college freshman (where has the time gone?!), I wanted to take advantage of my beautiful campus and shoot my spring lookbook for you all. Fashion is so amazing and happy in the spring. You get all the pretty florals, and lighter colors while getting to add a more feminine touch to your wardrobe. The weather is just right, not too hot and sticky, but no more snow. As a college student (when all I want to wear is athleisure), it can be hard to branch out and find some more fun pieces that fit each occasion. Here are four outfits I have picked out that range from more put together and possibly girls’ night downtown to an afternoon at a baseball game!

Foodie Finds: Sweetgreen

Happy Sunday, my pretty people! I am starting a new series on my blog that I am so excited about because it’s going to be all about one of my favorite things…food! Summer is a super fun time in the Kleck family. We love going out to eat, especially if they have outdoor seating. Soaking up the sun, with people you love, while eating?! It can’t get much better than that. This week’s starting foodie find is Sweetgreen! Upon recommendation from my lovely roomie, this salad sanctuary has easily moved up to the top of my of favorite quick serve restaurants in downtown Chicago. In this adorable and bright atmosphere you go up to the counter and pick out your lettuce, any toppings and dressing. You can even choose a light, medium or heavy amount of dressing that they toss right in front of you. These ingredients are all super fresh and was hands down one of the best salads I’ve had. I opted for a classic caesar to see what it would be like. I went with kale as my base and I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not typically a huge kale fan but it was delicious. The real game changer was sweet potato. I randomly decided to throw that in just because I love sweet potatoes in any form and it totally made the whole meal. They also come with a yummy piece of bread that so effortlessly compliments the salad. It tastes like a kind of wheat sourdough? I also partnered my meal with one of the many fresh juices they have to offer. Mine was a cucumber, ginger, and lemon fresca. Super fresh and yummy. So this summer, if you’re on North State St. in River North (just a few blocks North of the Grand and State redline stop), check out this amazing new find of mine. Look forward to many more Foodie Finds while I’m in Chicago as well as Indy this summer! Hope you all have had an amazing weekend and go eat a big salad!!

Alpha Chi Formal

This Saturday night, my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega had our formal! It was in downtown Chicago at the Joy District and let me tell you, such an amazing place to have an event. It is an Asian fusion restaurant/bar with an awesome upstairs area for dancing. I will definitely head back for an actual meal at some point. For the night I decided to wear a dress I already had (my Easter dress from last year) a white lace dress. I kept it simple with a gold and crystal choker and some gold studs. I wore nude chunky heels and straightened my hair. It was 70 degrees so the white was very fitting for the spring weather (finally!!). Here’s a few pictures from the evening!

And of course we had to make a late night pit-stop at Portillo’s for a cake shake and some cheese fries 🙂

Happy Sunday! xoxo Anna

Weekly Gratitude: My New Sisters

Happy first Sunday of April! I thought I would write a weekly gratitude because 1) I haven’t written one of these in a really long time and 2) I have a really good thing to write one about this week. So a lot of my friends and family have been asking me to write about my sorority recruitment process and what it’s like being in a sorority, but I have been hesitant because I am only a newly initiated freshman so really how much advice can I give at this point? Just last weekend I became officially a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Iota Rho Chapter at Loyola University Chicago. Yesterday (and the event that sparked this post idea) was my first AXO retreat with all of my new sisters. The retreat was held at the Indiana Dunes and was the picture perfect day. Clear blue skies and sunny. Yes, greek life is filled with mixers, philanthropy events, fundraisers, formals, and weekly chapter meetings, but yesterday proved to be so much more to me and showed what this is all really about. It was a day filled with lifting people up, taking goofy instagram pictures by the beach, and meeting some pretty rad people. We played cheesy games and gave a lot of compliments but in the end, when we were all standing around on that chilly beach with our windy city far off in the background, it just felt right. This is where I am supposed to be. With these people, in this place, right now. So shout out to my amazing new sisters for making yesterday one to remember and making me even more excited and proud to rep Alpha Chi yesterday, today, and always.
