The month of February is all about love. Whether it’s loving friends, family, a significant other, or yourself it is all good and it is all important. The feeling of being loved is something we as humans crave. So what’s the difference if it is coming from yourself? Self-love is all the rage these days. Not only is it trendy but it is true and very very real. The act of self-love is not simply filling your mind with positive affirmations in the mirror every morning, but believing that you are valuable beyond measure. You have something to contribute to this world. You are magic, a bright beautiful goddess gifted to this earth by God. You don’t need to please everyone or live your life for anyone else but you. Society has so much to say about how we should behave, look, and even feel. You can’t buy into any of it. Stop doubting yourself and accept the things you can not change. The journey to self-love is one of the hardest things you will ever do. I am on this journey too and no where near finished. It doesn’t happen over night. It probably will take years. This isn’t a selfish act either, it is just knowing your worth and not stopping until you reach your goals. Make this the year of you. Do what you need to do. Set goals, work in silence, and let your actions reflect your work. You are capable of amazing things and don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise.
